  1. Develop a report describing methods for shielding nuclear medicine applications including hot labs, imaging rooms (standard and hybrid), waste storage areas, and patient treatment rooms. Deliverables include:
    1. Development of broad beam attenuation factors for select radionuclides in common shielding materials (lead, concrete, etc.).
    2. Selection of consensus values for typical patient exposure rates for various radionuclides.
    3. Practical examples of barrier calculations for controlled and uncontrolled areas.
    4. Methodologies for barrier evaluations to validate shielding adequacy.
    5. A description of other radiation protection considerations in nuclear medicine such as ventilation.
