| Activities | The task group will: - Establish dose in air at iso-center, planar average dose and equilibrium dose as the preferred dose indices for evaluating CBCT systems.
- Define the scope of system configurations to which the CBCT Dose evaluation described applies – this will include, but not be limited to, C-arms, O-arms, LINAC OBIs, Dental Units, Orthopedic Imaging units
- Define the term Dose in air at iso-center, consistent with AAPM reports 111 and 238 and describe appropriate methods to measure this dose index on the systems within the scope.
- Define the terms Dose Profile and Planar Average Dose consistent with AAPM reports 111 and 238 and describe the acquisition procedures to measure those dose indices with a dosimetry phantom on the systems within scope.
- Describe the approach to establish conversion factors for dose measurements made in phantom and in air using the same technique factors or normalized to reference point dose
- Define the terms Equilibrium Dose and Rise to Equilibrium Function consistent with AAPM reports 111 and 238 and describe the appropriate methods to measure these dose indices on the systems within scope.
- Describe and discuss the utility and limitations of each of the described dose indices.
