ActivitiesThe goals of this task group are to summarize the knowledge and provide guidance and recommendations for developing and maintaining a unique branch of radiation therapy − total body irradiation (TBI), total marrow irradiation (TMI), and total lymphoid irradiation (TLI). The following charges will be included in the report:
  1. Review TBI/TMI/TLI’s general principles, existing literature, and current practices in the community.
  2. Update the recommendations in the original AAPM report No. 17 (TG-29) on conventional TBI/HBI.
  3. Detail implementation and maintenance of an intensity modulation-based TBI/TMI/TLI program, including initial commissioning, on-going quality assurance (QA), and routine clinical procedure.
  4. Provide guidance on quality management measures (e.g., staffing requirements, staff education, and peer reviews).
  5. Provide risk analysis and recommendations for patient safety.
