The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) believes that medical physics residency programs have a responsibility to treat all applicants with fairness and transparency. Furthermore, residency programs should not take advantage of their position of authority over those they are recruiting. The AAPM believes that participation in a national matching program provides a fair and objective method to place qualified applicants into residency programs based on the preference of all parties. The MedPhys Match is designed to be flexible enough to meet almost any recruitment need and works best if all programs participate. The AAPM therefore encourages all medical physics residency programs and applicants to participate in the MedPhys Match. |
