[This policy governs situations where AAPM members are contracted to perform services on behalf of AAPM. This policy does not apply to the Editors and Editors-in-Chief of AAPM's Journals, who are covered under a separate administrative policy]

AAPM may contract with members of the association to provide specific services. Such contracts may or may not include compensation from AAPM. AAPM oversight of such independent contractors requires an efficient reporting structure for facilitating contract negotiations and other activities related to the members' contracted work for AAPM. This policy is meant to specifically identify the members of the AAPM Executive Committee (EXCOM) as the group responsible for overseeing the contract negotiations, performance evaluations, contract terminations, and other related activities. The Chair, President, and President-Elect shall direct negotiations with individual or groups of members on behalf of EXCOM, with a majority vote of EXCOM required to approve any action*.

* In cases where a member of EXCOM is determined to have a Conflict of Interest in the negotiation or contract, that individual will be recused from negotiation or contract discussions. In cases where a member of the presidential chain is determined to have a Conflict of Interest in the negotiation, that individual will be recused from the negotiation and an alternate (Secretary or Treasurer) will be selected to participate in the negotiations.
