As artificial intelligence (AI) tools have emerged and continue to expand, they may be increasingly used as a resource in the development of written content. While recognizing that potential, it is the policy of AAPM that any content for and by AAPM (e.g., Newsletter articles, website copy, BBS posts, e-News blurbs, reports, professional standards) must always be attributable to an individual person (or a group of people) who will assume responsibility for all aspects of that content (e.g., factuality, copy editing, copyright permissions, etc.), and no AI tool may be listed as an author of any such content, as a software tool cannot be held responsible for the integrity of the writing
