Policy text

The objective of this Policy is to ensure that all AAPM-related content on social media sites is consistent with the organization's mission and objectives.

  1. General procedures
    1. Staff will, on request, provide each committee, subcommittee, TG etc. [committee(s)] with a members-only BBS to facilitate topical discussion.
    2. Committees may also maintain affiliated social media identities as outlined below.
    3. AAPM staff shall be provided with login information (usernames and passwords) for all affiliated social media pages, accounts, etc. at the start of their development. Any changes should be communicated to the responsible AAPM staff.
    4. The AAPM logo may not be used without permission but will be provided for use in affiliated social media accounts. However, AAPM requires use of its own custom icons and backgrounds in order to maintain a coherent image of the AAPM brand.
    5. When possible, affiliated social media accounts shall link back to AAPM's social media account(s). The AAPM will reciprocate.
    6. Committees that wish to enforce AAPM membership as a requirement for entry into affiliated social media accounts or pages will self-administer the validation of membership.
    7. Affiliated social media accounts will be monitored for appropriateness of content by AAPM staff in order to comply with this Policy.
    8. EMCC has jurisdiction over all web-related content that is created and maintained under this Policy.
  2. Content
    1. Any content that might be interpreted as the position or view of the AAPM (other than a direct link to AAPM content) must clearly state that it is the position or view of that individual, and does not necessarily reflect the position of the AAPM. Content, including images, shall not violate copyright laws or trademark rights. All necessary permissions to reproduce content should be emailed to the responsible AAPM staff members.
    2. Inappropriate content shall not be posted.
  3. Platforms
    1. LinkedIn
      1. The AAPM LinkedIn group is open to the public. No individual LinkedIn groups for committees are allowed, as AAPM can host subgroups within its parent group. If a committee is interested in setting up a subgroup please email staff with adequate details on what you want to develop.
    2. Facebook
      1. The AAPM Facebook page is open to the public. Committees wishing to start a Facebook page should title it the "AAPM _______" and should email staff to request their custom logo.
    3. Twitter
      1. The AAPM Twitter feed is open to the public. Committees wishing to start a Twitter account should title it the "AAPM _______" and should email staff to request their custom icon and background.
    4. AAPM Website
      1. The AAPM website is partially public and partially restricted to members only. Committees are provided with a Committee Website. To build these out please contact the AAPM Website Editor, who will work with you and AAPM Staff to facilitate your request.
