The American Association of Physicists in Medicine believes that the off-duty professional activity of a government or civilian Qualified Medical Physicist (2) employee does not, by itself, present an unfair advantage with respect to employment opportunities for other medical physicists, nor does it violate the Code of Ethics of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (1) provided the employee fulfills all duties and responsibilities to both the primary employer and the client, and competes primarily on the basis of quality of service rendered.
