The Dosimetric Study of Four-Image Guide Radiotherapy Mode in Siemens Artiste Accelerator

Purpose: To measure the radiation dose from the Siemens Artiste linac’s image beam line (IBL) of 2Dplanar, 3DMVCT,6MV 2Dplanar and also from Siemens Somatom CT , analysis and compare the four mode dose and combined with the irradiated sites to choose the most appropriate image guidance mode.
Methods: using IBA Dose 1 electrometer and FC65 ionization chamber to measure CIRS head, chest and pelvic phantom dose from the image beam line (IBL) of 2Dplanar, 3DMVCBCT and 6MV 2Dplanar and using IBA Dosimax plus A CTDI ionization chamber to measure the Siemens Somatom CT irradiation dose from the head, chest and pelvis scanning mode, a comparative analysis of the measurement results, and combined with the scanning sites, image quality and patients incorporation to choose the appropriate image guidance.
Results: the head and neck area, IBL 2Dplanr radiation dose was 16.6mGy, IBL 3DMVCBCT radiation dose was 58.73mGy, 6MV2Dplanr, the radiation dose was 19.83mGy ; radiation dose of Somatom CT is 8 mGy; IBL mode 2Dplanr radiation dose in the chest area is was 14.08mGy, 3D MVCBCT dose was 49.17mGy, 6MV, 2Dplanr radiation dose was 18.97mGy ,radiation dose of Somatom CT is 10 mGy; in the pelvic region, IBL 2Dplanr radiation dose was 13.36mGy, 3DMVCBCT radiation dose was was 45.65mGy, 6MV, 2Dplanr radiation dose was 17.52mGy, and the radiation dose of Somatom CT is 13 mGy .
Conclusion: In all sites,the Somatom CT radiation dose is less than other three IGRT mode .Especially in head and neck , the IBL 2Dplanar image quality has reached the position registration requirements and much more simple than Somatom CT process, so use of IBL 2Dplanar mode in head and neck is better ; in chest and pelvic region, image guided by Somatom CT is recommended .
