This year’s Annual Student Meeting consists of a panel of medical physicists from academia, industry, and the clinic, who will address topics related to professionalization and skill sets of medical physicists today. There will be three topics on which the presenters will give their opinions, including the changing education and skills of medical physicists, the nature of medical physics research, and professionalization. Each topic will have two speakers, followed by dedicated time for interaction with the audience. Discussion between the presenters and participants is encouraged.
Learning Objectives:
1. The audience will gain a better understanding of the changing skill sets of medical physicists.
2. The audience will learn about how medical physicists can be involved in new types of research
3. The audience will gain a better understanding of reasons for and against standardizing medical physics education.
