Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The Environmental Protection Agency’s mission is to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment – air, water, and land – upon which life depends. The Office of Air and Radiation develops national programs, technical policies, and regulations for controlling air pollution and radiation exposure and is concerned with pollution prevention, indoor and outdoor air quality, industrial air pollution, pollution from vehicles and engines, radon, acid rain, stratospheric ozone depletion, and radiation protection.
