International Day of Radiology 2021
The tenth International Day of Radiology (IDoR) is November 8, 2021. IDoR 2021 marks the 126th anniversary of the 1895 discovery of the X-ray by German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen. This year the day will be dedicated to Interventional Radiology and its essential role in treating patients. As the world continues to face the challenges posed by COVID-19, it is extremely important to acknowledge the key role that medical imaging has in medicine, not only during unforeseen circumstances such as the pandemic, but also on a daily basis in all areas of patient care. Interventional radiology is a unique and growing subspecialty that helps and protects patients each and every day. The motto chosen is ‘Interventional Radiology – Active Care for the Patient’. IDoR 2021 will also include celebrations during National Radiologic Technology Week (November 7–13).
AAPM is joining more than 100 medical societies around the world in marking this very special day. We invite you and your practice to take part as well.
