Moderators: Anna Rodrigues, Duke University and Jason Stanford, University of Mississippi Medical Center
Why Should We Learn Radiation Oncology Billing?; Terry Wu, Willis-Knighton Cancer Center
Medical Physics Opportunities at the NRC; Maryann Abogunde, Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Sunday, July 12 • 9:30am - 11:00am
Room 210, Anaheim Convention Center
The purpose of this meeting is to address topics that are becoming more relevant to medical physicists, but are not frequently addressed. The talk is divided into two parts – medical billing and regulations. The speakers will delve into how medical billing is shaping the work we do as clinical medical physicists. Further, they will explore how the NRC interacts with clinical medical physicists and how medical physicists can pursue a career outside of the clinic in the NRC, thus continuing one of our subcommittee's goals of promoting non-clinical careers in medical physics. Our distinguished speakers will also be happy to answer general questions from the audience.
Things You Won't Be Able to Say Somebody Should Have Told You; George Sherouse, Landauer Medical Physics
Physics of the AAPM; Justin Keener, Forsyth Medical Center
Tuesday, July 14 • 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Room 304, Anaheim Convention Center
