Free Afternoon

On Monday, June 12 the program ends mid-day, allowing attendees a free afternoon!

Some ideas for how to spend your afternoon:

  1. AAPM will arrange for a bus ($12 ticket) to make a round trip to the flagship location of Powell's Books, 1005 W Burnside Street, Portland. Not interested in browsing over one million books? There is plenty of window shopping in the Pearl District, plus coffee shops and pubs.

    1:00pm Departure
    Bus will return guests to campus as needed.
    5:00pm Final departure from Powell's Books; return to Lewis & Clark

  2. Tryon CreekTryon Creek State Park: 13 miles of nature trails right across the street from campus.

  3. Portland Kayak CoAAPM will arrange for a bus ($12 ticket) to make an hourly round trip to Portland Kayak Company, 7 minutes or 2.3 miles from campus. Unguided kayak rentals are available for experienced kayakers. If you select this option, you are responsible for making your own kayak/canoe rental reservations in advance by calling (503) 459-4050 to reserve. You are also responsible for payment of rental fees. You will be asked to sign a waiver prior to boarding the bus.

  4. Weather permitting, relax by the pool. Or shop in the campus book store or head to the Pamplin Sports Center.
