A quality assurance program is instrumental in ensuring the production of optimal and consistent radiographs. Consequently, AAPM Task Group 175 (TG175) was charged with making recommendations on specific evaluations to be conducted during acceptance and routine quality control (QC) testing of dental imaging equipment. Three different types of dental imaging units, intraoral, panoramic and cephalometric units, were examined by the task group. The purpose of this session is to review and discuss the recommendations made by TG175.
Learning Objectives:
1. To present an overview of the TG175 recommendations
2. To provide a detailed discussion of the acceptance testing and QC recommendations for intraoral dental units
3. To review the recommendations for panoramic dental units
4. To highlight the recommendations for cephalometric dental units
