The 2016 American College of Radiology (ACR) Digital Mammography Quality Control Manual is now available in electronic format. The objective of this manual is to ensure high quality digital mammograms while keeping radiation doses low. The new manual was a collaborative effort among medical physicists, radiologists, mammography technologists and industry. It was designed to focus on high-yield and clinically relevant tests to ensure that consistent, high quality mammographic imaging is provided. This talk will review important aspects of the new manual, including testing for both the radiologic technologist and the medical physicist. Aspects and requirements of implementation will also be addressed.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the Technologist QC testing requirements under the new manual
2. Understand the Medical Physicist QC testing requirements under the new manual
3. Understand how to transition to the new manual
