- AAPM Mentorship Program
Call for Mentors! The AAPM Mentorship Program is actively recruiting volunteers from all disciplines, work environments and education levels to serve as mentors to other AAPM members. Mentorship is 1 on 1, virtual or in person, and will address mentee-defined development goals across any and all aspects of medical physics practice (scientific, educational, professional, industry, regulatory and so much more). Mentorship duration is for as long as mutually agreeable between participants but can be ended by either party for any reason. Come share your experience and wisdom and help fellow AAPM members reach their full potential! The Program is currently recruiting mentors at this stage of the launch and will open to mentee sign-ups once mentor recruitment goals have been achieved.

- Episode 14 | AAPM Webinar Series on MP3.0 Transformational Medical Physics
Data science and informatics are aspects of particular service that are a suitable fit by medical physicists. In addition, because medical physicists are integrated into the hospital environment, they can have a particular impact on the healthcare milieu via the delivery of their multiple services and skills. Well-designed, managed, and utilized EHR are particularly important for tumor board management, emergency pandemic response protocols, and even in patient survivorship. Hospitals are complex organizations with many opportunities to improve these services. Medical physicists, through participation on committees, oversight, and overlap/communication with departments, can serve vital needs in these processes.

The goal of this webinar is to introduce the AAPM community to the National Cancer Institute’s Imaging Data Commons (IDC) and Cancer Cloud Resources, components of the cloud-based Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC). The webinar will describe how to access imaging data, build cohorts, create virtual workspaces in the cloud to develop, or run, AI algorithms and pipelines, reproduce and share results of studies in diagnosis or treatment of cancer. The webinar will include systems demos.
