  Case Study 15: Brachytherapy Applicator Digitalization shares a reoccurring error pathway of incorrect digitization of brachytherapy applicators, resulting in incorrect treatment for multiple patients at one practice and leading to adverse skin reactions. This educational document includes three mitigation strategies and associated resources to address the error pathway. Read through previous RO-ILS reports and contact ASTRO staff who are available to help with RO-ILS enrollment, implementation and other needs.

• Standardized Medical Terminology for Cardiac Computed Tomography 2023 Update
  AAPM joined the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and other national and international societies in releasing an updated consensus document standardizing medical terminology commonly used in clinical and research activities related to cardiac computed tomography.

    Synopsis: This presentation will provide an overview of the American College of Radiology’s Data Science Institute (ACR DSI) and its mission to advance medical imaging with artificial intelligence (AI), including the development of use cases for clinically relevant AI, as well as ethical and legal concerns. A central focus will be on the ACR DSI’s collaborative efforts with the US Food and Drug Administration to shape regulatory standards to promote safe and effective AI utilization. Lastly, the presentation will delve into the lifecycle of AI, exploring best practices from development to deployment to real-world monitoring.
