- AAPM Response to Executive Order to Reform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
A new executive order directs the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to reconsider the use of the Linear Non-Threshold model and the As Low As Reasonably Achievable principle. While the order speaks specifically to the use of the LNT model and ALARA principle in the nuclear power industry, the ALARA principle is foundational in all radiation safety practices. AAPM will monitor effects of this executive order and continue to communicate relevant information to its membership.
