Activities | To consider the best mechanism for producing advocacy material aimed at administrators – specifically to include a potential “business case” for medical physics – and recommend funding needed to complete this task. In particular, the committee should:
- Consider the best type of material to make the case to administrators about the value and cost effectiveness of medical physicists
- Identify an external consultant who could produce such material, to include an expert business case on medical physics, targeted at administrators
- Work with the Executive Director to draft key provisions of a contract to hire such an external consultant
- Provide to EXCOM, FINCOM and the Board the costs associated with hiring such a consultant and seek approval for that expenditure
- Draft instructions and charges to guide the consultant’s efforts
- Engage the consultant as a guest member of the ad hoc committee during the process of work on the business case plan
- Review the finished work product of the consultant
- Work with other committees to determine and recommend the best means for disseminating the business case
