AAPM/GAMMEX 5K Run/Walk

The AAPM/Gammex 5K Run/Walk will start at Boom Island in the Mississippi River. This scenic route is sure to inspire all of the walkers and runners as they cross the river on the historical Stone Arch Bridge and then turn onto the parkway and run parallel to the river. The course is flat and has great views of the mighty Mississippi, including St. Anthony Falls. Deadline to register is June 25. There is no on-site registration for this event.
Registered participants must come by the AAPM meeting registration area in the convention center on Monday, July 23, between 10:00am and 2:00pm, to pay $5 (cash only), sign a waiver and pick up a race number and t-shirt. A receipt will be given for your $5 payment.
Transportation to race start at Boom Island - Bus pick-up is promptly at 5:30am on Tuesday:

Tours will be offered through metroConnections, Inc. Some tours are limited, so please do not delay. Purchases must be made by Sunday, July 1. Tickets MAY be available for purchase on site, but there are no guarantees!
All tours will start and finish at the Minneapolis Convention Center at the times indicated. Please allow yourself some extra time before stated departure times.
Tour Cancellation Policy: Tours which do not meet minimum capacity may be canceled within 3 weeks of the event. If a tour is canceled, registrants will be notified and refunded in full.

Deluxe motorcoach transportation. Cost includes lunch at Forepaugh's Restaurant and admission to the Minnesota History Center and the Alexander Ramsey House. This tour is a closer look at the St. Paul sites seen from the bus on Sunday's highlights tour. Forepaugh's Restaurant is an elegantly restored Victorian mansion now serving French cuisine.

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine will honor AAPM award winners during a ceremony followed by a wine and cheese reception on Monday, July 23. The ceremony will take place in the Minneapolis Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Minneapolis. Please remember your tickets.

Nicollet Island in the Mississippi River will be transformed into a riverside festival with tents and activities. Minnesota Northwoods activities will include a lumberjack show, a strolling Dixieland band, and an 8-piece local dance band, R-Factor.
Food Stations will display a wide variety of popular Minnesota Heartland cuisine. Be sure to visit the Beer Garden, the perfect place to sample an American hometown brew. You Betcha!
Pick up a rod and reel and enjoy one of Minnesota’s premier summer activities, good fishing! A live trout fishing pond will be sponsored by the North Central Chapter of AAPM. Prizes will be awarded for catching one of the six banded fish.
Please note: Each adult Night Out ticket will include 1 drink ticket, good for beer or a glass of wine. Once your ticket is used, cash will be accepted. Nonalcoholic drinks will not require a ticket.
