Campus Parking

Parking can be arranged for participants staying in campus housing. Summer School participants not staying on campus are responsible for their own parking and should contact the Parking Office directly at parking@andrew.cmu.edu or by calling 412-268-2052 to make arrangements. PARKING ON CAMPUS ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY IS FREE. Do NOT include Saturday & Sunday as parking days.

Campus Security
There are security officers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for your safety. In the event that you should need assistance, they can be reached by calling extension 2323 from any campus phone.

Emergency Procedures on Campus:
Review your residential area to make note of fire extinguishers, pull stations and exits in the event that there is a fire or other emergency. In case of fire, pull the nearest fire alarm and leave the building by the nearest fire exit. DO NOT use the elevator and DO NOT re-enter the building, until the fire department or campus security officers indicate that it is safe to re-enter the building.

Campus accommodations will be in the West Wing and Resnik House residence halls. These residence halls are primarily suite-style (2-3 bedrooms, living/lounge area and common bathroom) with a few suites not having living/lounge areas. Living/lounge areas are equipped with microfridge units. Bedrooms have a bed, desk, desk chair, desk lamp, closet and dresser for each resident. Single occupancy is one person per bedroom; double occupancy is 2 people per bedroom. In general, there will be 3 or 4 people per suite sharing a bathroom. No prime singles with private bathrooms are available. All guests are provided with bed linens, a pillow and bath towels. This air-conditioned facility is smoke free.

The AAPM Summer School preferred hotel is the Holiday Inn Select University Center located in the heart of the Pittsburgh university community and is approximately a 20 minute walk to the Carnegie Mellon campus. The nightly rate is $129.26 (includes tax). Please call the hotel directly at 412.682.6200 to make reservations. Be sure to mention AAPM Summer School to get the discounted rate.

Check In
Check in will be at Carnegie Mellon University in the West Wing TV room from 5-8pm. on Thursday, July 29.

Note that the opening Summer School session will be held on Thursday, July 29 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, 1:00pm-4:30pm (Room TBA). Bus transportation from the Pittsburgh Convention Center will be provided to the Carnegie Mellon campus at the conclusion of the afternoon Summer School session. Departure times will be announced.

Meals
Summer School meals are included in the campus housing fee. Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday; breakfast and lunch on Sunday. The Icebreaker Buffet will be on Thursday evening. Participants not staying in campus housing can purchase meals in the Highlander Cafe - the AAPM designated dining hall. The Highlander Cafe is a one price all-you-care-to-eat facility. Cash and AAPM meal plans are accepted. Hours of operation will be posted at the dining room.

Icebreaker
The Icebreaker/Welcome Reception will be "A Taste of Pittsburgh" to be held adjacent to the Resnick and West Wing residence halls in the Donner Ditch on Thursday evening. The menu will be classic Pittsburgh fare including Primanti Brother's sandwiches, barbequed chipped/chopped ham sandwiches, pierogies, Klondikes, and local beers. Lots of additional variety will be available as well, including vegetarian choices and other beverages.
