This educational program will explore imaging and therapy challenges unique to the pediatric patient population. The first lecture will begin with a discussion of imaging infants, including medically complex patients in the neonatal intensive care environment. The presentation will include best practices in both radiography and ultrasound of neonatal patients. In support of this year’s conference theme, “Connecting Our Pathways. Unifying Our Profession”, the second lecture will focus on the administration of theranostic radioactive iodine in young children and adolescents. Through a root cause analysis of a recent radioiodine safety event, this presentation will address common problems and solutions to administering I-131 therapy in children.

Learning Objectives:
1. To learn techniques for optimizing image quality for general radiography and ultrasound of neonatal patients.
2. To learn about challenges and solutions to radioactive iodine administration in young children through the root cause analysis of a recent radioiodine safety event.
