The AAPM 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for Tuesday,
August 12, will again be sponsored by GAMMEX RMI this year. Registration
for the run will be included as part of the meeting registration
process. Please include your
T-shirt size when you register. Race registration will close
with
the close of meeting registration on July 23, 2003. There is
no registration fee for the run.
Registered participants must come by the AAPM
meeting registration area in the convention center on Monday,
August 11, between 10 am and 2 pm, to sign a waiver and pick up
T-shirts and numbers. Since the race course is in close proximity
to the convention center hotels, no transportation to or from
the race location will be provided.
The course will start behind the convention center,
just a short walk from the meeting hotels. From the start you
will head south to Embarcadero Park South, loop around the park,
then turn north past the starting area, turning left for a loop
around Embarcadero Park North. You will continue north on the
sidewalk to the turn around point near G Street, then retrace
the route to the starting area. The route is all paved sidewalk
and travels through picturesque Sea Port Village, with a breathtaking
view of San Diego Bay, Coronado Island and North Island Naval
Station. Water and refreshments will be available near the start/finish
area.
Thanks again to GAMMEX RMI for continuing to sponsor this fun
event.
