SDAMPP/AAPM Webinar: The Medical Physics Residency (MedPhys) Match What You Need to Know
Friday, December 16, 2016
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM EST
SDAMPP and AAPM are pleased to present this webinar on the Medical Physics Residency (MedPhys) Match. This webinar is addressed primarily to physics residency program applicants, although program directors may also be interested in seeing the process from the applicant’s perspective. The basic operation of the MedPhys Match will be discussed, with particular attention to the fairness and robustness of the process. The algorithm has been studied and improved over many years, and the optimal strategy for both programs and applicants is to rank in true preference order. Many of the MedPhys Match programs also use the AAPM Medical Physics Residency Application Program (MP-RAP) and MP-RAP has been modified to facilitate the matching process. The relationship between the MedPhys Match and MP-RAP will be described, and basic elements of the application process will be described. Answers to common questions about the application process will be given. Immediately following the presentations, there will be a Q&A session for both MedPhys Match and MP-RAP.
Speakers will include:
- John Antolak, Chair, AAPM Subcommittee on the Oversight of MedPhys Match & Chair, AAPM Medical Physics Residency Training and Promotion Subcommittee
Moderators:
- Robert Pizzutiello, Chair, SDAMPP Outreach Committee
The webinar is available to the first 1,000 participants that register.
