Celebrate the 8th International Day of Medical Physics
To raise awareness about the role medical physicists play for benefit of patients, the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) organizes annually the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) on November 7, an important date in the history of medical physics. On that day in 1867, Marie Sklodowska-Curie, known for her pioneering research on radioactivity, was born in Poland. We celebrate the 8th IDMP on November 7, 2020. The theme of IDMP 2020 is ‘Medical Physicist as a Health Professional’. Your support and active participation is greatly appreciated!
Available Materials to Participate in the Celebration:
- IOMP Poster
- The IAEA has prepared a web page for your use that includes a flyer, videos from medical physicists and medical doctors and official statements from the IAEA leaders in medical physics. We encourage you to use such material to enrich your local events and to show to your local authorities, to advocate together for the recognition of such medical physicists as part of the health workforce. Also check the IAEA webpage on Friday and Saturday to find an upcoming interesting article on medical physics pioneer Marie Sklodowska Curie.
Visit the IDMP webpage. This page will be updated regularly with new material.
Please find the material here and Happy International Day of Medical Physics!
